Plastic Surgery Diary: Breast Lift with Implants, Full Tummy Tuck and Liposuction to Flanks

12 weeks post op

We would like to thank our lovely patient for sharing her Plastic Surgery journey of undergoing Plastic Surgery Mr Wilson, which took place at the Nuffield Hospital in Bristol. Real reviews and documenting experiences like this one are so helpful for anyone looking to undergo a similar procedure. We are always so pleased to hear how patients lives are transformed by their procedures and how they feel safe and well looked after by Sherif and the team.

This patient’s Breast List with Implants, Tummy Tuck and Liposuction, and here is her story including real before and after images.

Entry 1: The Decision to Change

Twelve weeks ago, I had a breast lift with 400cc round high profile textured implants, along with a full tummy tuck and liposuction to the flanks. I had been overweight throughout childhood and, after having my daughter in 2011, my weight reached 17.5 stone. Feeling unhappy and unhealthy, I made changes and lost 7.5 stone. The weight loss left me with significant loose skin and very deflated breasts. For years, I accepted this as the price of no longer being severely overweight. I thought about having surgery for a long time but hesitated because I have an underlying blood disorder and was worried about the risks that come with any operation.

Entry 2: Finding Mr Wilson

At the beginning of this year, I reached a point where I felt ready to make a change. I researched surgeons thoroughly and found Mr Wilson. The reviews from his patients were exceptional and convinced me that he was the right person to care for me. My first appointment was on 22 March. He was gentle, understanding, and immediately put me at ease. In every consultation before surgery, he explained the pros and cons, set realistic expectations, made sure I understood everything clearly, and tried different implant sizes under my sports bra so that we could achieve the look I wanted. Thirteen weeks after that first appointment, my surgery took place at the Nuffield Hospital in Bristol.

Entry 3: Preparing for Surgery

Because of my blood disorder, I met with a haematologist twice before the operation. Together with Mr Wilson we planned how to manage my blood thinners and made sure I felt confident and reassured. Every risk was discussed openly. On 20 June, I arrived for my procedure and stayed for two nights. Mr Wilson visited me beforehand to check how I was feeling and to draw the markings for surgery. The anaesthetist also came to see me. I felt fine until I walked into the operating theatre and then the reality of what I was doing suddenly overwhelmed me. Everyone was kind and reassuring. The anaesthetist reminded me that I could still change my mind, which I did not want to do, and gave me the first part of the anaesthetic to help me relax. The next moment I remember was waking up in my room, proud of myself for going through with it.

Entry 4: The First Days After Surgery

The care at the Nuffield was outstanding. The staff ensured I was comfortable, kept on top of my pain medication, and helped me whenever I needed to get to the bathroom. Mr Wilson visited me both mornings during my stay, always calm and reassuring. I was discharged in my compression garments with all my pain medications and clear instructions.

Entry 5: Support and Early Recovery

The support from Mr Wilson and his secretaries, Kim and Lily, was exceptional. They answered every question I had, even the ones I felt were silly, and reassured me throughout both the pre and post operative periods. Recovery was challenging for the first two to three weeks but my partner and daughter were wonderful and took great care of me. I bought a V shaped pillow which became essential for sleeping and sitting up comfortably. With two regular pillows underneath it, I found the best position for rest.

Entry 6: Seeing the Results

Two weeks after the operation my dressings were removed and Mr Wilson advised me to continue wearing the compression garments for a further six weeks. When I went home and saw myself properly in the mirror, I cried. Even with some bruising and soreness, I had never been so happy with my appearance. A few weeks later, I ordered new bikinis for an upcoming holiday. When I tried them on, I cried again because I could not believe how my body looked as the swelling settled and the new shape appeared.

Entry 7: Twelve Weeks Post Operation

Now, at twelve weeks post op, my scars are healing beautifully and I am happier with my results than I ever imagined. We went on holiday recently and, for the first time, I felt completely comfortable sitting by the pool in a bikini with my family. It was one of the best feelings I have ever had.

Entry 8: A Message to Others

If you are thinking about surgery with Mr Wilson, do it. I wish I had done it years ago. I want to thank Kim and Lily for always replying quickly and easing my worries whenever I needed reassurance. You were both amazing. And to Mr Wilson, thank you for changing my life and giving me a body I never thought I would have. It is mine, and I am so grateful for your skill, care, and compassion. You are truly remarkable at what you do, and I can only imagine how proud you must feel to make such a difference to so many people.
