“If you’re looking for a surgeon who’s an expert at the top of his field, has meticulous attention to detail and really cares about his patients, then look no further than Mr Wilson.
I’m a 58 year old woman who was left with diastasis recti (divarification) following my pregnancy with my big baby boy when I was 43. After 4 days of labour he was finally delivered by emergency c-section, but not before the damage had been done. I went on to have my baby girl when I was 45, delivered by planned c-section.
I couldn’t decide whether to have surgery or not and have mulled it over for the past 13 years. There are always risks with any surgery and I had to weigh up whether I thought it was worth it or not. I carried out extensive research and made an appointment with Mr Wilson. I wasn’t sure what to expect, would he think I was silly having an abdominoplasty at 58 years old. I needn’t have worried. He was sympathetic and understanding. He went through the procedure carefully, explaining all of the risks to help me make an informed decision.
I decided I would go ahead and had my operation on 30th November 2021. I didn’t really know what to expect, how it would look. I tried looking at other people’s before and after pictures, but still found it hard to imagine how I would look. Well, all I can say, is “wow”. I’m 9 weeks post surgery and cannot believe the results, I look the same as before I had my babies. I’m amazed and absolutely thrilled with the outcome.
The recovery wasn’t without discomfort, but it went smoothly. Mr Wilson visited every day to check on me and I felt safe in his care. I followed his instructions to the letter, getting up and walking hourly the day after surgery to help prevent a DVT from forming, which I’m pleased to say, didn’t. I had no complications, no infection, no collection of blood or fluid after the drains were removed on the second day. I was able to lie on my side at 2 weeks and made it fully upright at 4½ weeks. I’m now looking forward to starting Pilates to look after my new shape.
My only remaining question of myself is “why on earth did I wait so long?”. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr Wilson; I think he’s simply brilliant. If you have any questions, worries or doubts he’ll be able to answer them and put your mind at rest. He won’t try and talk you into or out of having surgery but help you to make an informed decision.”
Back to myself and with a stomach I’m now happy with

“Mr Wilson was incredible from the outset. As a runner, my lose skin and diastasis was not only a cosmetic problem but a functional one for me.
From the beginning he knew exactly what I wanted to achieve and why. During my consultation he was honest and informed me that there would be no need for any liposuction.
On the day of surgery Mr Wilson put my mind at rest and spent time marking the area of skin to be removed. I knew some of my stretch marks would remain and that really wasn’t a problem for me. I’ve had two beautiful girls and I’m proud to have earned my stripes so why try and erase them?
Post op was amazing. I had very little pain from the outset. 3 days in and I was only taking ibuprofen. The pressure garment recommended by Mr Wilson was so comfy. I wore it to his exact instructions and I’ve not had a single problem. The only thing that was uncomfortable was my back but that had eased within a fortnight.
It was a long two weeks with my wounds covered by the dressings however I needn’t have worried as my incision looked incredible. I love that the mole on my tummy remains in place because it just shows how far the skin was pulled down.
12 weeks out and I’m back running more than 20 miles a week, doing core work in the gym and generally loving my new found figure.

Life changing surgery
“The best decision on my life was to take the plunge and go for the surgery. I had hated my body since 2 big babies, felt unattractive, uncomfortable in clothes and self conscious. Mr Wilson was very reassuring and helpful, gave me realistic outcomes for my body type and put my mind at rest. The op was really straightforward for me, and the stay at The Spire was like a mini break at a hotel and the staff were excellent. The day after my surgery I had visitors and was able to talk and actually felt great. I would say the recovery when back at home is painful but only for a couple of days and then I was up and about. By day 5 I was feeling back to normal! My scar is healing amazingly well and the results have blown me away. Getting ready in the morning, I can put on any pair of jeans and tshirt and it looks great, no muffin top, NO mum tum, its truly amazing, I even have abs! The muscle repair work was incredible and I feel on top of the world. Mr Sherif Wilson is a master in his field, I would highly recommend. If you are reading this and trying to decide – go for it.. it will be worth it!”
Very good experience
“Mr Wilson was really lovely to work with. Mild mannered, easy to talk to and didn’t rush me at all. The work he has done is great I love my new tummy. The scar is beautiful, so fine and is fading nicely. I had no issues at all with it knitting together. The bandages he used were splash proof and didn’t need to be removed for a week or two which made me worry at the time as I didn’t know what was going on under there but wow was it worth the wait! The incision was incredible. He was very reassuring, I would consider myself a nervous patient and did require a bit extra reassurance, which when I asked I was given. The procedure went very well, it is a lot of work to go through that’s for sure! My only criticism would be that the recovery time and pain I experienced was more than I had expected. I was told everyone is different of course, but there were little surprises which I wasn’t expecting which turned out to be quite normal. That said I would recommend Mr Wilson, I have found great confidence now I have had a tummy tuck, which has impacted all areas of my life. One of the scariest and best things I have done.”
100% pleased with the results of my operation
“I had my first consultation with Mr Wilson in June 2017, and had a full tummy tuck (with mons pubis) operation on November 7th 2017. I had put on around 4 stone with each of my 2 pregnancies some 20+ years ago resulting in multiple stretch marks, and after losing 4 stone more recently, was unhappy with the ‘overhang’ of my stomach. Right from the outset Mr Wilson’s manner made me feel very comfortable; he explained both the procedure and the associated risks very clearly and always answered any queries I had as fully as possible.
